Pager solutions in logistics: an outdated concept
High upfront hardware costs and the time-consuming maintenance of the systems are only the beginning of the problems. On top of that, the truck driver is handed a pager that can easily get lost or simply be forgotten. This puts even more strain on the already limited time on site.
Even more problematic: drivers often lack clear instructions. They don’t know which gate to enter through or where they can unload their cargo. This leads to unnecessary delays, stress, and misunderstandings—with a direct impact on the efficiency and on-time performance of the entire supply chain.
